Casting and Rolling Complex (CRC) – is an enterprise, built according to the most advanced technologies in the world. The Complex was put in operation in October 2008.
While building CRC, the United Metallurgical Company used the latest achievements in world science and techniques in metallurgy that ensured technological uniqueness of the Complex.
CRC is the first producer in Russia of hot rolled flat products, by the most economic technology from thin slabs on the basis of combining continuous casting and rolling in a single
technological process. CRC productions are hot rolled steel flat products in coils, sheets and strips.
Putting into operation of CRC first line gave opportunity to provide pipes electrical welding shops of Vyksa Metallurgical and Almetievsk pipe factories, which are included into United Metallurgical Company, with high quality hot rolled coil for production of small and middle diameter pipes which comply with international standards. At CRC there is also foreseen an opportunity of mastering in producing high quality rolled products for automobile industry, shipbuilding industry, railways wagons, barrels and other carrying equipment.
Technological process is completely automatically controlled. Casting and Rolling Complex – is the only metallurgical plant in the country which has four levels of automation control.
The power of CRC first line is 1, 5 million t/y. There is planned an increase of power up to 3 million t/y, and also enlargement of steel grades range for the produced products.
